Capes and pirate shirts

I stumbled accross this site called twin rose designs. It was full of lovely clothes that stir the imagination! I mean, haven't you ever wondered what it would be like wearing these kinds of clothes or living at the time when that was normal?? The pictures on the site were protected, so these are similar ones

Family games

I love seeing what I can find at second-hand stores. Some of the best finds have been games, for only $0.99 -1.99! Here are my latest second-hand treasures. They were made in the 70s and 80s, but are complete!

The pathfinder game is one Dallas, who is 7, and David and I have been enjoying. You have to try finding the other persons marker, while navigating the maze they hid it in, without seeing it. Similar to battleship.

The Baby Bird game say up to 8 years, but Dallas was bored with it. It is simple enough for Freeman (4) to easily play, and Timothy (3) only needs a little help. It can get a little long in play, but a little bit of simple converstaion about the birds has kept it fun for the boys!

So, what are your favorite games to play with your kids or other adults?

Judelyn

My Mother has started her own Etsy shop. She is an incredible seamstress, insisting on perfection! Those of you who have seen Dallas' dresses, know the quality I'm talking about here! Stroll on over and see what she has, and spread the word about her store to your friends!

Sunbonnet Sue Part 2

Now that we knew which hats and bonnets went together, I ironed the pieces onto the background fabric. First the dresses and bonnets, then the feet, arms and hands.

Next came adding embellishment such as ribbon, lace and buttons. The blue and green Sue at the bottom is, I think, my very favorite of all. Dallas really likes the strawberry Sue.

This is pretty much as far as I've gotten. Now I'll be working on sewing around the pieces, and that will take a while. I don't usually get much done in each setting before I have to go take care of the children!
